Volunteer With Us

Weekly Cupboard Volunteer:  if you like to schedule the same time and day every week, then this is for you.  Shifts are one weekday afternoon per week, 12:50-4:00p.m.  You'll be trained to fill grocery/supply orders, stock shelves, and otherwise assist clients. Interested?  We currently need Wednesday volunteers!  Interested?  Fill out an Application

Substitute Cupboard Volunteer:  if your availability is spotty, this may be a good fit.  Subs are trained the same as Weekly Cupboard Volunteers so they can fill in as needed.  The Director sends out a list of needs, and you choose the days that fit into your schedule!  We
currently need Subs!  Interested?  Fill out an Application

Lunchtime Meat Pick-up Volunteer:  Mon-Wed-Fri at 12:15, volunteers pick up boxes of donated meat from the Fairfield Walmart and deliver them to The Lord's Cupboard.  Pickup truck or SUV required; some lifting!  Positions currently full, but we can always use Subs.  Interested?  Fill out an Application

Bread Pick-up Volunteer:  These volunteers go to the Fairfield Hy-Vee at 8:00a.m. one weekday each week to pick up the donated day-old bakery items and then drop the items off at The Lord's Cupboard.  Positions are currently full, but we can always use Subs.  Interested?  Fill out an Application

Friday afternoon Bread Delivery Volunteer:  on Friday afternoons at a little before 4:00, this volunteer picks up whatever bakery items we have left at The Lord's Cupboard and delivers them to the happy residents at one of three local senior/disabled apartment buildings.  Positions are currently full, but we can always use Subs.   Interested?  Fill out an Application

Food Drive Coordinator:  The Lord's Cupboard serves a constant flow of hungry individuals and families.  That means we need a constant flow of donations coming in!  If you would like to head up a Food Drive at your business, club, place of worship, or event, please let us know!  We'll post about it on our Facebook page to draw more attention to it!  Here's some general info about Food Drives for The Cupboard!

Recycling Volunteer: We go through lots of cardboard at The Lord's Cupboard, so we need a volunteer who could pick up the flattened cardboard at the food pantry and take it out to Connelly (9th and Gear).  Ideally, once a week...but less often is okay, too!
Interested?  Positions are currently full, but we may need Subs.  Fill out an Application

Holiday Meal Boxes Volunteers:  every year in December, The Lord's Cupboard needs volunteers to help us distribute Christmas boxes for local needy families.  There are a number of days, shifts, and jobs involved, and details will be sent via email when the time comes.

Thank you so much for your interest in volunteering!  We think you'll find it a very rewarding experience. You don't need any special skills except a desire to help those in your community, and a smile you're willing to share!
